Thrown in cuffs before Dolphins game.

Tyreek Hill, the Dolphins' star player, was briefly detained and placed in handcuffs just hours before Miami's game today, though he is still expected to play.

Video circulating on social media shows police officers confronting the 30-year-old near Hard Rock Stadium, where the Dolphins are set to face the Jaguars.

While details are still unclear, the Dolphins released a statement explaining that Hill had been pulled over for a traffic-related incident close to the stadium and was briefly detained by law enforcement.

The team confirmed that Hill was released shortly after the incident and safely arrived at the stadium.

Several of his teammates witnessed the event and offered support. Hill and all players involved are available for the game.

Some 46 per cent of young gamblers have used credit to fund betting activity, double that of the UK average, a report has found

Searches for gambling apps have surged on the Google Play Store (18%) and Apple AppStore (10%) over the past year.

Among 25–34-year-olds, 46% have used credit to fund their gambling—double the average rate for UK gamblers.

Additionally, over a third (34%) in this age group have taken out new credit to cover essential household expenses, according to a new report by credit management company Lowell.

The study, which surveyed 1,000 people, also found that 20% of respondents from this age group used their own credit to cover gambling costs, with 16% withdrawing cash from credit cards—a move that can hurt credit scores and result in extra charges.

Worryingly, 18% borrowed money from friends and family without their knowledge, and 17% used joint credit cards for gambling expenses, potentially impacting their partners’ future creditworthiness, such as qualifying for a mortgage.

MLB PLAYOFF RACE

The Milwaukee Brewers and Philadelphia Phillies have opened comfortable leads in the NL Central and NL East, respectively.

As the final month of the 2024 MLB regular season begins, a few teams are already looking to October.

Who can clinch a playoff spot?

The Dodgers, Phillies, Brewers, Orioles, Yankees and Guardians all have at least a 99% chance of making the postseason early in the final month of the MLB season.

AL Race:

The Yankees and Orioles enter the homestretch battling for both the AL's No. 1 seed and the AL East crown with the Red Sox still holding onto some hope in the AL wild-card race.

After spending much of the season comfortably ahead in the AL Central, the Guardians are trying to outlast the Royals and Twins for the division crown while the Astros attempt to separate themselves from the Mariners in a two-team AL West race.

NL Race:

Five teams have separated themselves atop the NL standings with the Atlanta Braves battling the New York Mets and Chicago Cubs for the final playoff spot.

The Phillies and Brewers are seemingly cruising to division titles, but there is plenty of intrigue in the NL West as the Dodgers attempt to fend off the D-backs and Padres for the division crown.
