Welcome back to the Bandit Betting Newsletter!
We’re making a content shift here at Bandit — starting this week, our free Sunday newsletter will no longer cover general sports news.
Instead, you’ll receive one thing: our “Sunday POTD” — a single, high-confidence pick backed by the same data-driven process we use inside Bandit Premium.
This change is meant to put more focus on what we do best and to give readers a real taste of the value inside our premium service.
Just being transparent and we hope you’ll stick around and enjoy the new format each week.
Let's go...
SUNDAY POTD
NHL: St Louis Blues ML (7:00PM EST)
The St. Louis Blues have quietly put together one of the most intriguing first-round performances, clawing back from a 0-2 hole to force Game 7 against the top-seeded Winnipeg Jets. St. Louis has been perfect at home (3-0) and winless on the road (0-3), but now they’ll need to reverse that trend and become the first team in this series to steal a game on enemy ice.
Despite his pedestrian .897 SV% and 2.54 GAA, Jordan Binnington has outperformed Connor Hellebuyck when it matters most. The Vezina favorite has struggled under pressure with a 4.42 GAA and a rough .815 SV% in this series — hardly the form you’d expect from the league’s best goalie. He’s let in 5+ goals in each of the three games in St. Louis and even at home has looked shaky with a sub-.880 save percentage.
What’s driving the Blues? Balanced, unexpected offensive contributions. Nathan Walker and Cam Fowler — who was a trade deadline acquisition — have stepped up big. Fowler now leads all defensemen with 10 points in the series, setting a franchise record.
This series mirrors Saturday night’s Game 7 upset, where Dallas eliminated Colorado. Momentum, offensive depth, and the goaltending edge (yes, edge) lie with the wild card Blues. Add in the classic “Presidents' Trophy curse” narrative and you have all the ingredients for value at +140.
Let’s back the team with the heart, not the hype.
