A long flight home to Tallahassee for FSU.

Florida State lost to Georgia Tech on a last-second kick in Ireland, a game they could have easily lost closer to home.

The Seminoles seemed unprepared, despite having months to prepare for the 2024 season, and struggled against a team picked to finish ninth in the preseason ACC poll.

FSU started strong with a touchdown and two-point conversion for an early 8-0 lead but struggled offensively afterward, unable to establish the run or make downfield plays.

Questions arise about whether the problem was with new quarterback DJ Uiagalelei's comfort level or the receiver corps' inability to get open.

Defensively, FSU had issues containing Georgia Tech's veteran offensive line, allowing nearly 200 rushing yards and three touchdowns.

While the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff offers some hope, giving teams more leeway for losses, the Seminoles need to improve significantly to stay in contention.

SINNER STEROID DEBACLE

“It’s not ideal before a grand slam. But, in my mind, I know that I haven’t done anything wrong,”

World No. 1 men’s tennis player Jannik Sinner spent much of Friday's US Open media session addressing questions about his recent positive tests for a prohibited substance.

The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) announced that Sinner tested positive for Clostebol, an anabolic steroid, at low levels in two samples taken in March.

However, the agency found "no fault or negligence" on Sinner's part.

Sinner, the top seed at the US Open, is preparing to face Mackenzie McDonald in the first round.

He explained that the positive tests were due to "inadvertent contamination" from his physiotherapist, who had used an over-the-counter spray on their own skin to treat a wound.

Following the incident, Sinner parted ways with his physiotherapist Giacomo Naldi and fitness coach Umberto Ferrara, stating he needed "some clean air" and wasn’t confident continuing with them.

Despite the controversy, Sinner maintained, "I haven’t done anything wrong" and emphasized his commitment to anti-doping rules.

Fellow ATP player Frances Tiafoe, who lost to Sinner in the Cincinnati Open final, commented on the situation, saying,

"The government bodies made a decision – they went and did that and he is cleared to play... All the best to him in the US Open."

“I don't have it, Mike. I would have to open a line of credit just to play golf with you guys."

Basketball legend Michael Jordan, known for his talent on the court, also had a penchant for gambling, once reportedly betting $100,000 on a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors.

His former Chicago Bulls teammate, Jay Williams, shared insights into Jordan's gambling habits on "The Brilliant Idiots" podcast.

Williams recounted seeing teammates gamble with Jordan and warned them against it, saying, “Why are you messing with the big bank?

He can’t lose. Last year he made $150 million.” He described the high stakes involved, mentioning that they would bet $20,000 on simple games and escalate to $100,000 when bored.

Jordan has dismissed concerns about his gambling, stating, “I enjoy it. It’s a hobby.” He argued that if it were a problem, it would have affected his finances and family.

Comedian Cedric the Entertainer also shared a story about Jordan's high-stakes gambling on the golf course, where bets could reach $10,000 per hole.

Cedric joked that playing golf with Jordan and other athletes like Charles Barkley quickly exceeded his budget.
