Late yesterday evening, unknown user @Mautm on Instagram posted his monstrous $109k winning parlay.

The bet featured Juan Soto o0.5 HRs & Aaron Nolan 10+ Strikeouts. The parlay totaled +10920…

To put it in perspective that’s an implied probability of 0.9% chance of winning.

Hats off to this guys testicular fortitude to risk $1,000 on that.

SMOKING BAN IN CASINO

Add investors to the list of people that call for casino smoking ban

A national non-smoking group and a Michigan health system have placed shareholder proposals on the agenda of annual meetings for two major gambling companies and are likely to add a third.

The measures ask the companies to study potential financial benefits of going smoke-free at their casino properties.

The group is pushing for a “smoking-ban” on casino premises nationwide. First they’ll take smoking in the casino, what’s next liquor too?

The world is going so soft in front of our eyes, it’s insanity.

I guarantee if they poll what gamblers actually want, a smoking ban will not be there.

I don’t normally smoke, but I sure do like a Marlboro at the blackjack table with a beer.

GUARDIAN COVERS

The padded shells were already mandated for contact practices

In a continuing effort to improve player safety, the NFL is allowing a piece of hardware to move from the practice field to regular game play.

On Thursday, the NFL released video of a recent health and safety webinar in which a league executive revealed that players would be allowed to wear padded Guardian Caps during games this upcoming season.

"There is the option for a player to wear it in a game if he so chooses," said Dawn Aponte, the league's chief football administration officer.

"There were a number of clubs that had already required all of their players to wear those. And last year, we had also expanded it to include regular-season practices, helmeted practices and postseason."

I won’t sit here and pretend those covers aren’t eye-catching/ugly, but I do advocate for player safety.

If these covers remain “optional”, I do believe very few - if any - players will wear them.
